Making Money Starts With Mindset

Like most of you, our story doesn’t start with silver spoons, trust funds, and generational wealth. In fact, our story starts with years of internalized financial fears, a decade-long obsession with white men’s wealth-building habits, and a crippling job loss that felt a lot like the end.

But it was only the beginning.

Our founder, Linda Garcia, spent the latter half of her twenties on a journey to unlock the secrets for amassing wealth by learning everything there was to learn straight from the source. The secret, she eventually found, was shockingly simple: scared money don't make money, and white men were bold AF when it came to securing their bag. They took risks, invested big, and dared to move their money in ways other people would not. And after she and her partner were laid off within a week of each other, Linda set off to reinvent herself and finally put to use everything she’d learned.

But after inheriting toxic and false beliefs about money from her father, Linda knew that, for people like her–POC, children of immigrants with years of internalized money wounds–there was more to amassing wealth than understanding money...we also needed to understand and unlearn everything we’d been taught about it.

And, so, In Luz We Trust was born.

To help our community understand and heal their relationship with money.

2006 - The beginning

At 26, Linda started to become fascinated with the ways in which white men made money. Though she was still burdened by her own internalized traumas and toxic money beliefs, Linda was compelled by dreams of wealthy ancestors and bejeweled foremothers to watch Youtube videos, read books and unlock the secrets that could help her achieve financial abundance.

2013 - Filling the gap

After years of research, Linda discovered the power of the stock market–an arena that was only made up of 9.8% Latinx investors at the time. Linda stayed on her academic shit, teaching herself about investing. Finally, still scared and very hesitant, Linda jumped in and began investing $200 a month. Over the next year and a half, Linda would invest $7K.

2015 - Rock bottom

Hispanic families are among the least prepared for a financial emergency. 27% have less than 1 month of expenses saved and only 21% have set aside enough money to cover more than 6 months of expenses. And in 2015, a pregnant Linda was laid off only a few days before her partner was laid off, too.

2017 - Only way out is up

Desperate to help make ends meet, Linda was tempted to tap into the money she’d invested while she was employed. But, armed with the knowledge that stocks are one of the single most powerful wealth-building assets a person could have in the U.S., she chose not to. A decision that would pay off in ways Linda couldn’t even imagine.

2020 - From $7K to half a mil in 7 years

Over the next seven years, Linda watched her $7,000 turn into half a million dollars. Now a more experienced and more confident investor, Linda was able to foresee the challenges 2020 would bring...and the opportunities. She made bold money moves that allowed her to continue to amass wealth in the face of one of the biggest financial crises of our time.

2020 – For the culture

Linda knew she was on to something, and she was determined to share it with her community, so she launched a business and created her first stock market course for beginners: Wealth Rules Everything Around Me. Linda also collaborated with her daughter to co-author a stock market workbook for children of color, in order to encourage and normalize financial literacy from a young age.

2021 – Stepping into wealth together

Two books, a podcast and countless courses later, Linda’s passion for empowering Latinas and other BIPOC folks has culminated in In Luz We Trust. Together with a community of Wealth Warriors and a team of money and mindset experts, Linda is on a path to revolutionizing the stock market, amassing wealth beyond her ancestor’s wildest dreams, and helping members of her community do the same.

A Cali native and proud Latina, Linda Garcia spent 17 years working in the TV and film industry helping well-recognized TV networks, movie studios and streaming services build programming for the U.S. Hispanic market. Despite enjoying the work, Linda knew there was more to life than working to make someone else rich. Eventually, she took the knowledge she’d gained and used it to launch the Let There Be Luz podcast: a weekly podcast aimed to channel one’s spiritual journey.

In 2019, after relocating to Dallas, Linda’s spiritual journey led her to what she considers her life’s purpose: to help the Latinx community heal the generational money wounds that prevent them from achieving wealth. In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, Linda launched her first stock market course for beginners, and created a rapidly growing community of Latinx investors on Patreon and Instagram known as In Luz We Trust™️. Today Linda is a published children’s book author, a self-made business owner, and a guiding Luz for thousands of BIPOC who are looking to break free from limiting and toxic money mentalities. Linda’s book, ‘Wealth Warrior’, is now in stores.
